Northwest Bellevue’s older streets
The City describes Northwest Bellevue as a blend of distinct neighborhood communities, ranch estates and single-family ramblers, and says the area holds some of Bellevue’s oldest neighborhoods. A gas range oven that is slow to light
On a Wolf GR gas range, Wolf allows the oven burners up to 40 seconds to light. Until the flame is detected the igniter keeps clicking, and a soft whoosh as it catches is normal. A burner that misses gets a second attempt after a pause; after two misses the oven locks itself out and the Call for Heat light flashes slowly.
Wolf’s owner steps are short. Keep the convection fan off during preheat, using the convection fan button on the control panel, because Wolf warns that running it then can shut the oven off. Once the Call for Heat light is flashing, turn the knob off and back on.
When to stop
If the bake or infrared broil burner will not light, Wolf’s instruction is to stop using the oven until it is repaired. A smell of gas changes the order of things: go outside first, then ring 911 or your gas utility from there. Otherwise the igniter and the spark control that watches for flame are the likely parts, priced from the igniter band in the table.
